Nexus Expands Invoice Submission Options for its AP Automation Solution

PORTSMOUTH, NEW HAMPSHIRE (20 February, 2023) – Nexus, a Bottomline corporate payment solution, has added new ways for suppliers to submit their invoices for approval and payment while enjoying complete transparency throughout the invoice-to-pay process. For Nexus customers, who are primarily in the real estate industry, that means fewer errors, speedier payments, and greater confidence in their cash position and projections.

Suppliers no longer need to create invoices in Word or PDF to send to their customers’ Nexus accounts for review and approval. Instead, they can:

  • Email a simple CSV file with invoice data to a Nexus address for auto-posting to their customers’ accounts in NexusPayables.
  • Upload a CSV file with invoice data in the supplier portal, NexusConnect, for delivery to their customers’ NexusPayables accounts.

Suppliers receive electronic confirmation of successful invoice submission using these options. Plus, they can track invoices in the NexusConnect portal from receipt through approval or rejection, sparing AP teams’ phone calls about invoice status.

“By the same token, these new invoice submission methods also give customers more clarity about their cash position because they can approve invoices faster and get them paid,” said Jenna Tuttle, VP of Nexus Product Management.

Indeed, based on a recent Bottomline research report, cash flow is a critical concern among both buyers and suppliers. The survey found that 73% of US businesses said receiving money has never been more important.

The Bottomline Nexus solution also offers other invoice submission methods, such as submission via Application Protocol Interface (API), upload to a dedicated portal, outsourced invoice capture and processing, invoice previews ahead of transmission, as well as scanning to an SFTP site.

Real estate firms that utilize Nexus for their AP automation and payments frequently have a wide variety of vendors who serve their properties, ranging from SMBs to large national retailers. Since their technology and staff levels differ, various invoice submission methods are needed.

“Whether suppliers want to submit their invoices for invoice processing via a portal, CSV file, or API, we have the technology to support them,” Tuttle said.

Once submitted, buyers process the supplier invoices in the NexusPayables software, which supports a broad range of user permissions. Property managers can be restricted to view and approve invoices for their properties only, while CFOs can approve all invoices. Invoice approval workflows are also highly configurable – and can be based on dollar amount, budget, over budget amount, department, specific vendor, contract code, job code, or other criteria.

Nexus, a Bottomline business payment solution, is a most trusted way for real estate companies to centralize and automate their procurement, invoice processing, and vendor payments. With just clicks, AP teams can manage the entire invoice-to-pay process using Nexus’s highly customizable software platform. Visit www.nexussystems.com.
